Wadesboro is a town in Anson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 3,552 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Anson CountyGR6.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 3,552 people, 1,393 households, and 930 families residing in the town. The population density was 461.8/km (1,194.2/mi). There were 1,585 housing units at an average density of 206.1/km (532.9/mi). The racial makeup of the town was 41.69% White, 56.36% African American, 0.39% Native American, 0.45% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.70% from other races, and 0.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.30% of the population.

There were 1,393 households out of which 30.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.7% were married couples living together, 27.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 30.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
